Sri Hari, you are Pathitha Pavan/ the savior of the distressed and desolate
people, you are too kind and compassionate to your devotees, the Veda and
sacred scriptures highly eulogize your glories. Oh! Prabho, your childhood
friend Sudhama/pious Bhramin, a penniless and staunch devotee of you arrived at
your doorsteps, you rushed to receive him with endless joy and offered him the highest
of honor, you have served him along with Goddess Sri Rukmini. Oh! Prabho, while
spending the whole night talking about the good olden days spend in the
hermitage of Maharishi Sandheepani, you have seized a bundle of ragged upper
cloth from the skeleton body of Sudhama, you have taken a handful of puffed rice
from the ragged cloth bundle, and tasted it with great pleasure. Oh! Prabho,
you have provided an abundance of wealth in return for the two mouthfuls of
puffed rice to Sudhama. Oh! Prabho, Devi Dhraupadhi who was humiliated in the
large assembly of Kaurava, the younger brother of Duryodhan seized her clothes
and Devi Dhraupadhi cried out for help in the large assembly, but none was
heard, Oh! Prabho, Oh! Dwarakanath, she called out for you, instantly you have
provided mountain-sized clothes and protected Devi Dhraupadhi from further
disgrace. Oh! Prabho, you have brought back the life of the son of Maharishi
Sandheepani from the abode of Yama and offered him as ‘Gurudhakshina’ to your
preceptor. Oh! Prabho, I am exhausted, worn out of grief and sufferings of
worldly existence/Thapathraya/three kinds of grief, why don’t you shower your
compassionate grace upon me?”
