Chapter – 248- Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The recitation of Sri
Ramanama removes the three kinds of grief of worldly existence
Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho, Oh!
Bhakthavathsal, you can’t bear your devotees in distress, you are too kind and compassionate
to your devotees you have not delayed the cries of your devotees, you rush on
your feet to the devotees who remember your sacred names, and you are too
enthusiastic to protect to your devotees surrendered at your lotus feet. Oh! Prabho, you have protected the Gopa,
Gopis, the people of Vraja, and cows, from the wrath of Lord Indra, you have
elevated Mount Govardhan on your little finger and protected the entire Vraja
from the heavy pour. Oh! Prabho, you have liberated the demons Aghasura,
Arishtasur, and Keshi, you have crushed the pride of thousand hooded serpent Kaliya
who gushed out toxic poison on the river Yamuna that caused the death of cows
and cowherds, you have removed the fear among the cowherds by swallowing the forest
fire. Oh! Prabho, you have killed the wicked Kamsa, and his friends and
relatives, you have enthused Bheemsen to kill Jarasandha in a vicious battle,
and you have brought back the son of Maharishi Sandheepani from the abode of
Lord Yama and offered the child as Gurudhakshina. Oh! Prabho, you have
protected Devi Dhraupadhi from disgrace in the large assembly of Kaurava. Oh!
Kripanidhan, you are supreme Bhramam, you are omnipresent, omniscient, and
omnipotent, you are the ocean of mercy. Oh! Shyamsundhar, Oh! Nandhanandhan,
where did I go leaving your lotus feet? Who will protect me from the
Thribidhathapa/Thapathraya? I am helpless and I have no one to protect me.”
