Chapter – 220-  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika –The practice of devotion to get rid of Thapathrya/three kinds of grief

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Pathitha Pavan, Oh! Dheenabandhu,  Oh! Sri Hari, you are the savior of the distressed soul, the Veda and scriptures highly praise your endless virtues. Oh! Prabho, you are the purifier of souls, you have liberated Ganika/the prostitute who spent later years of age in the company of a parrot that was bought from the devotee of Lord Sri Hari, the prostitute was fortunate enough to get rid of the sufferings of worldly existence by merely listening to the ‘Sri Ramanama’ recitation of the parrot.  Devi Ahalya, the wife of Sage Gautama was cursed by the Sage for her mischievousness, Devi Ahalya turned into rock and spent years and years in extreme heat and cold, and finally, she got relieved from the curse at the touch of the dust particles of your feet, once again Devi Ahalya attained the marvelous form and reunited with Sage Gauthama. The elephant Gajendra, who was taken great pleasure in the association of its herd was seized on the leg by a crocodile in the pond, the friends, families, and relatives strived hard to save elephant Gajendra became futile, it fought for several years all alone, at last, he cried out for Lord Sri Hari. Oh! Prabho, you did rush to the Gajendra and liberated the elephant and crocodile from the curse. Oh! Prabho, I am worn out of sufferings and grief of worldly existence, I am helpless, cruel, wicked, deceitful, and distraught Jeeva. Oh! Prabho, you are the knower of all, you are that supreme Bhramam resides as the soul in the Jeeva, you are omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, should I describe the sins committed by words, mind, and deeds?”
