humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga, who is the Goddess of all the deities/Sureshwari,
you are the provider of liberation to Thribhuvana/three
worlds with your sacred water course and its wave. You are unblemished, dwells in the matted
hair locks of Lord Shankara/Shankaramouli Viharini, I shall sincerely meditate
upon your lotus feet.
My
humble salutation to Goddess Sri Bhageerathi, who is the provider of eternal
bliss/Sukhadhayini and whose splendor of her water course is described in the
sacred scriptures, I am unfortunate to know your magnificence due to my
ignorance, Oh! Kripamayi/compassionate mother, kindly protect me.
My
humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga who originates from the lotus feet of
Lord Hari/Haripadhya Tharangini, and elegantly flow through the glaciers, your
waves has the resemblance to moon as well as precious pearls. Oh! Mother, kindly remove the burden of my sins
and shower your grace to cross the ocean of Samsara.
My
humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga, whoever devour the sacred water of you
would obtain Paramapadham, Oh! Mother,
Oh! Gange, whoever sincerely devoted to you would never have the fear of Yama.

humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga, Oh! Janhavi, you are gracefully moving through the highest
peaks and creates your watercourse in the middle of the three worlds, Oh!
Bhishma Janani/Mother of Bhishma, Oh! Munivarakanye/daughter of Sage Jahnu,
your presence brings prosperity in the three worlds/Pathithodharini.

humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga, who flows elegantly like a young maiden
with great enthusiasm, you are a wish fulfilling Kalpatharu to the Universe,
whoever prostrates before your lotus feet would never fall into grief or
miseries.

humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga, whoever recites your glories and take a
dip in your holy water will not have rebirth, Oh! Jahnavi, you are the
protector of your passionate devotees from the hellish torture/Narakanivarini, oh!
Supreme Mother, you are the destroyer of impurities in your devotees/Kalushavinashini.

humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga, Victory to Goddess Jahnavi ! Victory to
Goddess Jahnavi ! I have got purified with your sacred waters and your compassionate
glance, your lotus feet it worshipped by Lord Indra, your feet is decked with
his crown of Lord Indra while he prostrates before you, you are the provider of happiness/Sukhadhe and
auspiciousness/Shubhadhe to your servants who are surrendered at your lotus
feet/Bhruthyasharanye.
My
humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga, Oh! Bhagavathi, kindly remove my
illnesses/Rogam, sorrows/Shokam, grief/Thapam, sins/Papam and all the
impurities of mind, you are the provider of prosperity to the three worlds, you
are the marvelous garland of the Earth/Vasudhahare, you are my safe haven in
the world of Samsara.

humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga, Oh! Alakanandhe, Oh!
Paramanandhe/provider of immense bliss, Oh! Karunamayi/compassionate mother who
is worshipped by grief stricken people/Katharavandhye, kindly listen to my
prayers and be gracious, living on this sacred river bank is equivalent to
residing in glorious Sri Vaikundham.
My
humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga, Oh! Mother it would be treated as
immense fortune to live as a Kamada/tortoise, or Meena/fish in your holy waters
or live like a weak chameleon on your river bank, or it is perfect to be an
unclean or pitiable person who lives on your sacred river bank, instead of
being a King or person born in superior clan.
My
humble salutation to Goddess Sri Ganga, Oh! Bhuvaneshwari/ Goddess of the
Universe, Oh! Punye/personification of auspiciousness, Oh! Dhanye, Oh! Devi who
is the in water form and Munivarakanye/ daughter to Sage Jahnu, It is definite
that whoever recites your glories would become successful.
My
humble salutation to Godess Sri Gange, whoever venerates you with utmost faith
and devotion would remain happy and attain liberation from the cycles of birth
and death; it is sweet like nectar verses composed in Panjjatikameter, which
could provide eternal bliss.

the glorious verses of Gangasthothram which is the essence of purity and
capable to provide happiness and all that desired to her worshiper, it was composed by Sri Shankara who is the
servant of Lord Shankara.
