composed by Rishi Gauthama, Sri Soma as presiding deity, Virata as its
Chandhass and it is recited to please Lord Chandhra.
Oh! Mahipathe/King, recitation of sacred names of Lord Chandhra
brings abundance of pieties in the Universe, it is definite that whoever reads
or listens to it would be relieved from miseries and sorrows, Lord Chandhra who
is Sudhakara who resembles to nectar, Soma/nectar, Gaurabja who has the appearance
of white lotus flower, Kumudhapriya who is fond of lotus flowers, Lokapriya who
is beloved of the world, Shubhrabhanu who spreads white cool rays, Chandhrama
who has lustrous circle of light, Rohinipathi who is the consort of Rohini Devi,
Shashi/Chandhra, Himakara who is the source of coolness and has the luster of
camphor, Raja, Dhvijakara/twice born, Nishakara who is the cause of night hours,
Athreya who is born in the illustrious

who has won over wrath, Kalanidhi who is the treasure of arts, Jaivathrika who
is born in the illustrious clan of Jaivathru , Ramabhratha who is the brother
of Goddess Rama/Mahalakshmi, Ksheerordharnnavasambhava who is initiated from
the milky ocean while churning the ocean for nectar of immortality,
Nakshathranayaka who is the leader of stars, Shambhushirachoodamani who is
adorned on the head of Lord Shambhu, Vibhu who is mighty Lord, he is
omnipresent and eternal, Thapahartha who eradicates miseries and sorrows of
worshiper, Nabhodheepa who spreads white cool rays and illuminates the Earth, worshiper who recitates or listens to these
sacred names of Lord Chandhra on daily basis with utmost devotion and
dedication would be relieved from all kinds of miseries and grief, worshiper
would get all the desires fulfilled, and remain blessed with the grace of Lord
Chandhra.
