is Lord night, he symbolizes nectar, he is most venerable, he symbolizes
virtues and he is worshiped by pious, he has perfect control over senses, he
symbolizes victory, he is eminent part of the Jyothish Chakra/science of
astrology, he acts correspondingly to Vikarththana/Surya, he is valorous, he is
Vishvesha, heis the Lord of Vidhusha/ wise, intellectual, he can be formidable
too, he eradicates the wicked people, he symbolizes nourishment, he is the
protector of people who are surrendered at his lotus feet, he is beloved of
Ashtamoorthi, he is imperishable, he eradicates miseries and sorrows, he has
great effulgence, he symbolizes light, he spreads light across the Universe, he
accepts oblations from fire sacrifices, he is Kaladhara, he causes the movement
of wheel of time, he symbolizes amorous
sport, he fulfills the desires of the
worshiper, he eradicates untimely and accidental death, he symbolizes
auspiciousness, he is most venerable on prescribed rite on daily basis, he is
the source of night/Lord of Night, he undergoes eclipse and he eradicates the
sins of the worshiper as well, he undergoes waxing and waning periods, he is Jaivathruka/moon who has the luster of

worldly existence of the worshiper, he is the source of light during the night

his twenty seven wives, he is void of
passion, desires, etc. he is infallible, he remains shadow of Adithya on the
Earth, he is amicable, he carries out the smooth functioning of the Universe,
he eradicates sufferings and miseries, he is the source of happiness and joy,
he is worshiped by the righteous people, he represents Agamashasthras, he is
omniscient, he is eulogized by Sanakadhis, he is mounted on the grand chariot
adorned in pure white umbrella, he is adorned in fresh alluring white flower
garland, he is smeared in white colored highly fragrant musk, he is mounted on
the grand chariot pulled by ten horses, he is wielded in Danda, bow and arrow,
he has the luster of Kundhapushpa, his eyes has the resemblance to lotus flower
petals, he is originated from the ocean, he represents Athreya Gothra, he is
can be alarming too, he fulfills all the desires of the passionate worshiper, he
is too compassionate, he is the Lord of Karkata/fourth sign of Zodiac, he is
imperishable, he is seated on the grand throne of rectangular

of permanent happiness, he is the source of all the happiness and joy, he is
fond of Palashasamith, I shall repeatedly prostrate before Lord Chandhra who is the Lord of night, he is the commander of planets,
he is the provider of liberation from repeated births.
