Sri Natesha Ashtoththarashathanama Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

I shall meditate upon Lord Natesha who is the Lord of Chidambaram, he is Nateshvara who symbolizes all dance forms, his lotus feet are worshiped by all, he has attractive matted hair locks adorned in sacred Ganga, he is flawless with attractive limbs, and his lotus feet are worshiped by illustrious Rishis like Ghatothbhava/Sage Agasthya. I shall meditate upon supreme  Lord Sabesha along with Goddess Sabeshi who is positioned on the left, she has the complexion of dark clouds,  adorned in garland of water lily and various ornaments, he has the brilliance of millions of Adithya, he has three eyes, he is adorned in crescent moon and sacred river Ganga on matted hair locks, his left hand is beautifully elevated on the right, he is attired in the skin of leopard, he holds colossal fire, Dol, Damaru, and one hand in Abhayahastha posture.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord of Chidambaram  with Goddess Parvathi on left, he is ocean of mercy, he is charming, he has three eyes and attractive matted hair locks,  he is supreme bliss, he is Rudra who is eternal. I shall prostrate before Lord of Chidambaram, he is Lord of Hemasabha, Chithsabha, and Chidambarasabha, he is Sabapathi of Chidambaram, he is the Lord of Chidambaram, he performs cosmic dance in the majestic hall of Chidambaram, he is Sabeshvara/commander of Sabha who represents Sabha, he is mighty Lord, he is Lord of sacrificial assembly, he is Universal spirit perceivable through pure thought, he is Natesha, he is the Lord of dance forms, he is precious jewel adorn the majestic hall of dance, he is the source of light for the majestic hall of dance, he is Nataraja who performs cosmic dance, he is the Lord of Pundareekapuram, he is the commander of Pundareekapura, he represents sparkling jewel of Pundareekapuram, he is most celebrated deity, he is worshiped by Pundareekaksha/Lord Vishnu who has the eyes resembles to lotus flower petals, he represents Thillvarudra, Maharudra, great dancer, dancer with attractive features,  and Panchakshara, he represents science of astrology,  he performs cosmic dance with great enthusiasm and bliss, he is supreme bliss, he represents sky, his matted hair locks represents sky, he performs cosmic dance with great energy and bliss, he is the Lord of sky, he is supreme preceptor, his lotus feet are worshiped by all the deities, he is Chidambara, he resides in Thillva, he represents Chith, he is the Lord of Thillvavana, he is most desirable in the three worlds, he represents Thillvavana, he is Lord of Thillvapuri, he is attired in skin of leopard, he is Lord of Vyaghrapuresha, he is beloved of Sage Vyaghrapadha, he is too compassionate, he is Mahakala, he is worshiped by Sage Vyaghrapadha, he symbolizes sacred chants and Pranava, he is worshiped by Simhavarma, he has attractive reddish- brown matted hair locks, he has Agni as eye on forehead, he showered abundance of boons to Sage Pathanjali, he eradicates illnesses that affects brain, forgetfulness, epilepsy etc.. he is adorned in venomous serpents as ornaments, he is beloved of King of serpents, he is Mahakameshvara, he is wielded in weapons of Vajra, he gets easily pleased, he performs cosmic dance in supreme bliss, his lotus feet symbolizes precious gem, he performs marvelous cosmic dance, he is beloved of Lord Hari, he is Hara and Shambhu as well, he is Eshvara who is beloved of Jaimini, he is adorned in marvelous anklets which produces tinkling noises, he is Lord of Srichakra, he is Umapathi, he has three eyes, he is wielded in trident, he is Lord of Bhoothaganas, he has majestic flag that has the symbol of celestial bull, he is fond of Srichakra, he has fierce limb, he is Lord of Thripura, he represents sacred chants, he is Lord of Sabha/majestic assembly hall, he is King of sacred chants, he represents Chakravigraha, he illuminates the whole Universe with his radiance, he is beloved of Goddess Shivakami, he is Parathpara, he is Parameshvara, he is Lord of Lords, he is the Lord of auspicious assembly, he is Maheshvara and Mahadeva as well, he is Shankara and Chandhrashekhara, he has magnificent form as  Eshana, Thathpurusha, Aghora, Vamadeva, Sadhyojatha,  and  Sadhashiva, he is the Lord of Unvierse, he is Vishvanatha who is the slayer of demons of Thripura, he is beloved of Goddess Shivakami, he has mesmerizing features and he performs marvelous cosmic dance.
