Sri Guru/Bhrihaspathi Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

I shall reverentially prostrate before Guru Bhrihaspathi/ Jeeva, who is the preceptor of deities, he is eloquent, zealous, learned, and wise, he has long stature and youthful, he is attired in majestic yellow garment, he has compassionate grace resembles to nectar, he is Lord of planets, he eradicates evil effects caused by the changes in planetary position, he is extremely compassionate, he has pleasing disposition, he is Suracharya who is the preceptor of deities, he has the luster of flower buds, he is worshiped by the whole Universe, he is Universal preceptor, he is impartial, he establishes rules and disciplines, he is consort of Devi Thara, he is Angirasa who is son of Sage Angirass, he is eulogized by Veda, he is Pithamaha, whoever recite the glorious verses praising the splendor of Lord Bhrihasthi with intense devotion and faith would remain free from illnesses, worshiper would be blessed with courage, abundance of wealth, and virtuous offspring, worshiper would have long life of hundred  years, it would eradicate all the sins of the worshiper, whoever worship Lord Bhrihaspathi on regular basis on Thursdays with fresh yellow flowers, and offers Akshatha/unbroken yellow rice, fragrant incense stick, followed with the Upacharas, offerings flowers, Dheepam, and garlands, serving meals to Bhramins would be freed from all evil effects of planets.
