Sri Sanath Sujatheeyam – Sri Mahabharath
– Sri Shankarabhashyam
Chapter – 3 – Bhashyam – 2 - Bhramavidhya/The knowledge of supreme Bhramam
Dhritarashtra who was worn out of Shoka/grief,
Moha/desire, and ignorance, listens to the eternal truth that “Athmajjyani
effortlessly crosses the grief and agony of worldly existence’, Dhritarashtra
clearly understood that without the knowledge of Bhramavidhya it is impossible
to get rid of his grief. He became
extremely curious to know that eternal truth, spoke to Vidura “Oh! Vidura, you
are profound in Veda and Shastra, always speaks unique facts. I would like to
listen to all those which are beyond description.” Vidura who is extremely
compassionate, and Sarvajja, has attained Bhramavidya from the illustrious
preceptor, consider him as not qualified to enlighten Dhritharashtra with the
Bhramopadhesha. The supreme knowledge of Bhrmavidhya should be taught by the
illustrious preceptor Sanathkumara. Vidura speaks to Dhritarashtra “Oh! Rajan,
I have born in Shudrayoni, I am not qualified to talk more than anything about
that supreme Bhramam. I am not qualified to serve the knowledge of Bhrama
Thaththva Gnanam to you.” The
compassionate Vidura was confident that Dhritharashtra would get relieved from
the grief if he would attain the Bhramavidhya so that he could achieve that
Paramapadha of Paramathma, which is free from impurities and afflictions.
Vidura remembers the illustrious Ithihasa from Chandhokhya Upanishad, he
remembers Sanathkumara who is highly capable to reveal the knowledge of supreme
Lord who is Thamasa; Para/has supreme brilliance and Sarveshwara/all-pervasive.
Vidura sincerely wishes to remove the grief of Dhritarashtra, thus with his
Yogashakthi /Yogic powers invoke Sage Sanathkumara and venerate him with great
reverence.
Vidura eulogizes Sage Sanathkumara and
speaks “Oh! Bhagavan, Dhritarashtra is completely worn out of misconception. I
am not able to remove his illusion, hence I request you to remove his false
notion and grief as well. So that, Dhritharshtra would get the ability to
consider Labha/gain and Nashta/loss, Mithra/companion and Shathru/enemy, Jara/aging
and Anthaka/death, Madha/arrogance and Unmadha/attachment, Kshutha/hunger and
Pipasa/thirst, Bhaya/fear and Abhaya/shelter, Arathi/anxiety and Thandhriya/drowsiness,
Kama/lust and Krodha/anger, Kshaya/decay, and Udhaya/development, without any trepidations.
Oh! Bhagavan, kindly enlighten him with the supreme knowledge/Athmavidhya which
could keep him free from Dharma and Adharma, Sukha and Dhukha, and all those
causes for the grief and miseries of worldly existence, kindly liberate Dhritarashtra
from the miseries and sorrows of the worldly existence, and you are the most
deserving personality to enlighten Dhritharashtra with the highly confidential
Bhramavidhya.”
Sage Vaishampayana speaks “Further, Mahathma
Dhritarashtra who is highly learned and intelligent follows the advice of Vidura and approaches Sage Sanath Kumara in
solitude, to achieve that Bhramavidhya and Athmasakshathkara.”
