Sri Sanathsujatheeyam – Sri Mahabharath - Sri Shankarabhashyam – Bhashyam – 38 - 40 - Karma Vijjanam - The Significance of Dharma

Chapter 24 - Bhashyam –  38 - 40 - Karma Vijjanam - The Significance of Dharma

Bhashyam - 38

Sage Sanathkumara speaks “Oh! Rajan, in this way the Paramathman/supreme Bhramam which has no duality, assumes various forms with the union of Anadhimayayoga, the supreme Lord personifies on the Earth with the union of that Maya. The Veda describes Paramathma Parameshwara Parambhramam which is all-pervasive with the Vikarayoga/passionate Yoga, creates the Universe and its living beings.

Bhashyam – 39

The supreme Bhramam, Paramathma which is pure, unblemished, and free from afflictions, flawless, eternal, and changeless, has no birth and death, that Parameshwara in Vikarayoga/passionate Yoga, creates the Universe and its living being with the Ekshanadhi/Puthraishna, Viththeshana, etc, therefore the Maya who is the female Shakthi of Paramathma is all-pervasive as supreme Bhramam. Hence, I understand it is not Apoorvadhilakshna/incomparable Paramathma who is Chith Anandha Adhvatheeya does not have any ‘Karana’, creates the Universe and its living beings with the influence of Maya, I shall explain them with the Pramana. The sacred Veda initiates from the union of Parmathma with the JagadhupadhanaKaranabhootha Maya, hence the Veda is the Pramanam/proof. Shruthi says “ Lord Indra/Paramathma, with the influence of Maya assumes various forms and carry out the tasks.” /”Indro  Mayabhi: Pururoopa Eyathe”/” Asyan Mayi Srijathe Vishwamethath”/“Universe and it's living beings are created with that Maya”/ “Mayinam Thu Maheshwaram”, the Parmathma Parambhramam remains unblemished and dispassionate even after  the passionate union with the female Shakthi/Maya.

Bhagavan Vasudeva says “ Oh! Parththa, the Devi Maya of mine is extremely difficult to conquer, I am Aja/unconquerable, have no birth, Avyayathma/eternal, I am the Lord of the living beings, creates the Universe and its living beings with the influence of that powerful Maya of mine. I am the sole Adhyaksha/commander; Prakrithi gives birth to that Charachara Prapancha.”

“Oh! Bhagavan Vasudeva, your Maya is the essence of Ajjathapadharththa/not understandable, and stunningly gorgeous, due to this Maya even the ignorant who was drenched in this worldly matters and bondage achieves the ‘Athman’. The Supreme Lord Krishna who is Vishwambara bears the Universe and his Maya is highly confidential, extremely difficult to perceive. Aho  Adbhuthamayam Thvam Maya! The dull-minded get soaked into the worldly matters, money, people, family, children, relatives, companion, wealth, richness, fame, etc. that has fleeting nature and hurl into extreme grief and sorrow. These dull-minded Jeeva fails to understand the Parameshwara who resides as a soul in them is the sole witness.”

I strongly state that “Pramadha/Mahamoha, lack of knowledge of that all-pervasive supreme Bhramam which is pure, free from afflictions, eternal, changeless, has no birth and death, is the ‘Mrithyu’. The ‘Mrithyu’ has Jananam/ ‘birth’, so the vicious cycles of rebirth continue, the wise/noble/learned Jeeva with the knowledge of Paramathma Parambhramam who is the sole witness resides as ‘Athman’, do not get anxious about ‘Mrithyu’, gets freed from the cycles of Mrithyu. Hence, the knowledge of ‘Athman’/Paramathma Parambhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva, which is the Abhayaprapthi/ultimate shelter. Thus, Sage Sanathkumara cleared all the qualms of Dhritarashtra.

Dhritarashtra speaks “Oh! Mahamune, why the Jeeva follows Dharma and Adharma? Does that Jeeva with the observance of Dharma remove the results of Papa? Or Dharma nullifies the Papa?

Bhashyam – 40

Further Dhritharashtra raised a question to Sanathkumara, some Jeeva perform various religious and spiritual rites with utmost reverence, like the Agnihothradhi Karma, and in the same manner, some of the Jeeva follows the Adharmic rites as well. Do the Dharmic activities destroy the Papakarma performed earlier? Or the performance of Dharmic rites nullifies with the effect of Papakarma? Sage Sanathkumara replies that there will not be any nullifying/cancellation effects of Papakarma with the performance of Dharmic rites. The Vidhwan/learned as well as the Avidhwan/ignorant should go through the results of their Papa and Punyakarma’s definitely. The performance of Dharmic rites won’t destroy the Papakarma performed earlier. The Vidhwan/learned one burns out Punya and Papa in the flames of wisdom/Gnanagni/Athmajjanam.

Sage Sanathkumara speaks “Oh! Rajan, the learned one destroys the Punyapapa Karma in the Gnanagni, the dull-mined/ ignorant Jeeva go through the Punyapakarma taking several births and go through sufferings, miseries, pain, agony, illness, happiness, material welfare, etc.”
