Chapter – 48 – Viveka Choodamani - 471 – 480
Preceptor speaks “Oh! Mune, may you get
freed from the interest in the worldly matters and bondage, with the knowledge
of Anandhaghana Swaroopa, Paramathma Parambhramam, and performance of
austerities, and get yourself relieved from the illusion of Samsara. I assure
you, if you have contemplated and meditated upon the Paramathma Paramambhramam
in solitude, and ponder over the Athmathaththva, all your misapprehension
would disappear. The interest in worldly matters and bondage caused by the
Avidhya/ignorance, therefore strive to achieve the Sathya Gnana Anandhaswaroopa
Paramathma, following the austerities, vows, celibacy, under the guidance of
preceptor and get liberated yourself from the Samsarabandha. The lessons from
the Shastra, Yukthi, Pramana, and Dheshika/preceptor is enough to cross the
unfathomable ocean of worldly existence. The Bandha, Moksha, hunger, thirst,
contentment, emotions, and feelings of an individual cannot be experienced by
others but can be understood. The Veda, Vedantha, Scriptures, and preceptors
enlighten the Jeeva about how to cross the bottomless ocean of worldly
existence and what are the austerities should be followed, finally, it is the individual
effort to achieve success in the ‘Athmarathi’, along with the grace of supreme
Lord. The perception of Akhanda Sacchidhananda Paramathma Parambhramam resides
as the soul is an individual effort, the other person cannot feel for you. As I
have mentioned earlier, it is a feeling, like any other. If the Sadhaka
achieved the supreme state of Samadhi following austerities, vows,
Dhamashamadhi, etc. should not break the chain, it requires utmost sincerity and
devotion to achieve that Paramathma. The highest of the philosophy is ‘the
supreme Bhramam is all-pervasive, and there is nothing other than Bhramam in
this Universe’. The Parmathma with the influence of Maya, assumes Praprancha of
diversified Nama and Roopa, is the essence of Bhramam, and the supreme Bhramam
resides as Athman/soul in the Jeeva is Akhanda/eternal, indestructible Purusha.
The disciple who has achieved the knowledge of Akhananda Sacchidhanandha
Paramathma Parambhramam, constantly pondering over the Bhramamthaththva, and
perceive that Paramathma/Athman, ultimately get relieved from the interest in
worldly matters and bondage, impurities like Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha,
and Mathshcharya, get rid of redundant thoughts as well, further immerses in
the contemplation of supreme Bhramam. The disciple who was immersed in the
supreme Bhramam/Athmarathi for several years woke up and screamed enthusiastically
“It is astonishing! I have got rid of Samsara with the practice of
Athmabhramikhyanubhoothi, I have got rid of Pravriththi/deeds that fasten the
Jeeva in the worldly existence. I know nothing other than that supreme Bhramam
resides as soul, I cannot express that Athmanubuoothi in words. I am that blissful
Paramathma ParamBhramam.”
