Chapter – 9 – Sri Guru Gita – 81 – 90
Lord Mahadeva speaks “I shall prostrate
before the supreme Preceptor who is Eshwara, he imparts the knowledge of
Paramarththa Thaththva, the knowledge of all-pervasive supreme Bhramam which is
eternal, independent, represents Veda, and wisdom. Oh! Priye, it is impossible to achieve wisdom without the Guru,
even if the Jeeva is profound in the Veda and Shadanga/Shiksha, Kalpam,
Vyakaranam, Niruktham, Chandhass, Jyothisham, etc. all those pieces of knowledge would
remain unfruitful. The meticulous performance of Vishnupooja and Shivapooja won’t
bring any piousness without the knowledge of Guru Thaththvam, and it would be
like the worship of the portrait or Linga or the idol of the Lord without knowledge of
the faith and philosophies of supreme Lord Shiva, it could bring the results of
the worship of a portrait of the lamp, nothing more than that, it won’t provide any
piousness to the worshiper. The Jeeva who is afar from the Preceptor is unwise
and dull, the nearness to Guru, self-less service to Guru, and sincere
veneration at the lotus feet of Guru, thus achieve the Gurudheeksha would bring
tremendous changes in the performance of Karma and all those deeds performed
would achieve fruitfulness, therefore the grace of preceptor is enough to
achieve all the fortunes in life.
The Jeeva without the knowledge of Guru Thaththva or haven’t achieved
the nearness of Guru does not understand the Shivaroopa and Athmaroopa/Athma is
Paramathma Parambhramam Lord Shiva himself. The Jeeva who have not achieved the
knowledge of Athmathaththva is considered as four-legged animals/Pashu, Keeta,
Krimi, Pathanga, living in the homes. Oh! Devi, the Mumukshu who yearn to get
rid of miseries and sorrows of worldly existence and repeated births, strive
hard to achieve the nearness of the Guru, abandon the association with the
people and sincerely follow the Guru Thaththva, austerities, Shamadhamadhi,
Swadhyaya, Athmavichara, conduct worship of Guru and relentlessly serve the
Preceptor, achieve the Bhramajjanam/knowledge of ‘self’, get rid of impurities
of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya, interest in worldly
matters and bondage, get rid of the body and I consciousness and engages in the meditation
and contemplation upon that supreme Bhramam, achieves the union with it, as I
mentioned earlier, the worm deposited in the beehive assumes the form of a bee,
the fortunate souls attain the Bhramaswaroopa. I shall meditate on the supreme
preceptor who is none other than Eshwara, he removes all the misapprehensions
in the Jeeva, and enlighten the soul with the knowledge of
Oneness-in-all/Sarvam Bhramamayam and the Prakrithi / material matters have impermanent
nature and the Purusha/Paramathma resides as the soul is permanent. The ignorant
Jeeva is Mithyavadhi/illusionist, Vidambaka/deceitful, Jjanaheena/dull, drenched
in the material matters of richness, wealth, money, possession, fame,
attachment to wife, children, relatives, companion are not acceptable to be
close to the preceptor. These ignorant Jeeva
who have already worn-out of miseries and sorrows of worldly existence, lost the serenity of mind cannot do good to themselves or others. The Jeeva who is not capable
to protect himself/herself from the miseries and sorrows, already sunk in the
unfathomable ocean of worldly existence, drenched in material matters of
richness, wealth, money, possession, fame, and attachments to people,
constantly seeking pleasure to satiate the sense, body, and I consciousness/me,
myself, mine, cannot help others to
cross the ocean of worldly existence.”
