Chapter
-50 -Sri Vinaya Patrika - The methods
of Sharanagathi
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mind, the
birth as a human is rare to achieve, if not used to achieve the fruitfulness of
life, if it is not utilized to achieve the knowledge of Paramathma Parambhramam
reside as a soul in the Jeeva which is eternal, pure, unblemished, free from
affliction and it has neither birth nor death, and attachments to material
matters, richness, wealth, fame, possession, people, etc. has fleeting nature,
hurls the Jeeva into constant miseries and grief, ultimate to the vicious
cycles of rebirth, therefore contemplate and meditate upon the Sacchidhanandha
Swaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam, otherwise you will terribly regret it later, you have
achieved the birth as a human easily that is extremely difficult for the
deities to attain. It is impossible to achieve serenity of mind and relief from
grief and sorrows keeping afar from the supreme Lord Hari, all those Sadhana,
Yoga and practices keeping yourself far from the lotus feet of Supreme Lord is
unproductive as churning the water, which is utterly insane. The Supreme Lord
Hari is eternal bliss, the happiness is not vested in the interest in the
worldly matters or bondage, or attachment to material matters and people, they
are toxic poisons/Vishayavisha. Oh! Mind, abandon the immoral ways of living
and people of immoral deeds, and strive to achieve the association of the
Santhvrindh, Bhakthavrindh, Mhathma, take a tour to the devotees of Lord Sri
Ramachandra, listen to the glorious myths of Lord Sri Ramachandra, constantly
recite the Ramanama, and sing in praise
of the virtues of Rama, and contemplate upon the glorious form of Lord Sri
Ramachandra who is wielded in bow and arrow and attired in the majestic garment, and
perceive the divine personified as Dhasharathi. Oh! Tulsidas, abandon the
Prapancha of Samsara/greed for wealth, fame, richness, possession, wife,
children, relatives, etc. that has impermanent nature, and bow down before the
lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra which is the ultimate and safest asylum of
the Jeeva. Oh! Tulsidas, do not get alarmed, there were several thousands of
Jeeva engaged in immoral deeds were already taken shelter at his lotus feet and
are safe. Lord Sri Ramachandra gives protection to distressed who have taken the shelter at his lotus feet.”
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Mind,
look at the lovely appearance of Madhava, Oh! Wicked mind, you contemplate and
meditate upon Lord Sri Ramachandra, like the hoarder save every penny without
spending it. Oh! Mind, Lord Sri Ramachandra symbolize Shobha/brilliance, disciplines,
wisdom and virtues, he is benevolent, he is the source of bliss to the
Santhvrindh, Bhakthavrindh and Mahathma, he is the destroyer of all the sins,
he destroys the impurities of the mind such as Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha and
Mathshcharya, interest in worldly matters and bondage, and uproot the interest
in Vishayavisha/toxic poisons like attachment to people and material matters.
Oh! Tulsidas, if you do not want to engage in the practice of Yoga, Yajja,
Vratha, Thapa, etc. and if you want to get rid of sufferings of worldly matters
and bondage, and trepidations of worldly existence, then take shelter at the
lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari with intense devotion and faith.”
