Chapter – 81- Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The absolute
truth/Paramarththa Thaththva
Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mortals, you
have wasted the rarest birth as a human that too achieved after pieties of
several births, even after achieving beautiful human body, you have misused it getting
attached to the worldly matters of infinite sound, passion, smell, touch, and
appearances, you have completely forgotten the sufferings and grief of previous
several births spend in the Yonis/wombs of birds, animals, reptiles, etc.,
unfortunately, there was no means such as austerities, penances, Shamadhamadhi
to obtain the Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam, Oh! Mortals,
you have achieved beautiful birth as a human, abandon your arrogance,
ignorance, lust, desire, anger, jealousy, and pride, and take shelter at the lotus
feet of Lord Sri Hari. The interest in worldly matters, such as the
relationships you have formed in this birth as brother, father, child,
relative, companion, etc. are fleeting natured, you have taken several births before
too and you have formed several relationships there too, none of them followed
you, they have buried your body immediately after death, the ultimate truth is that
either they have to leave you or you have to leave them. Oh! Jeeva, no one can
help you while on the death bed, your relatives and family may concentrate on
the wealth you have left behind, and take possession of the same. Oh! Jeeva,
the noose of death/Lord Yama will not allow you to do Sathkarma/righteous deeds
for the welfare in the Paraloka/afterlife, hence leave your interest in worldly
matters, and practice meditation and contemplation upon supreme Lord Sri Hari to
get rid of the sufferings and grief of worldly existence and repeated births.”
