Sri Vinaya Pathrika – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – The significance of Bhakti/the practice of devotion and Sharanagathi– Prahladha Moksham – Gajendra Moksham – Vibheeshana Sharanagathi – Dhruva Charithram- Ambareesha Charithram – The victory of Pandavas over Kauravas

Chapter - 82 -Sri Vinaya Patrika  -  The significance of Bhakti/the practice of devotion and Sharanagathi– Prahladha Moksham – Gajendra Moksham – Vibheeshana Sharanagathi – Dhruva Charithram- Ambareesha Charithram – The victory of Pandavas over Kauravas

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, whoever achieved the grace of Lord Sri Ramachandra/ Kripa of Sri Raghunath, will they get threatened by the enemies? None of the enemies dare to touch the devotees of Lord Raghupathi, or can’t harm a single bodily hair, even if they try crores of methods to defeat. Whoever wishes for the destruction of noble souls, Mahatmas and Santh would pave their way to get down to the drain, these ignorant hurls into vicious cycles of rebirth in different Yonis and undergo sufferings of worldly existence till the end of the Kalpa.  The Veda highly praises the legend of Prahladha who is a child devotee and the wretched fate of demon Hiranyakashipu.   Prahaladha’s intense devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari forced the Lord to wait for his call and emerge from the pillar. Whoever does not follow the devotion would have the fate of the Hiranyakashipu who met brutal death, and who have surrendered at the feet of Hari, Guru, Santh, does not have the fear of anything. The legend of Gajaraj Gajendhra who was drenched in bodily pleasure spends life with the family, and children in the beautiful forest of Chitrakoot was seized by the crocodile in the pond, cried out for the family and friends to save, alas! none could save him, he was exhausted and cried heart out for Lord Hari was protected from the mouth of the crocodile, eventually, the elephant and crocodile got liberated.  Vibheesha, who is an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu, younger brother to Ravana, was a Hithopadheshi advised his brother to return Devi Sita and take shelter in Ram was exiled from the Lanka. Eventually, he has taken shelter at the lotus feet of Rama, later he was crowned as the King of Lanka. The five-year-old child-devotee Dhruva who was humiliated by his step-mother Suruchi went to Madhuvan to undertake severe penance at the instruction of Maharishi Narada, finally achieved the Dharshan of Lord Vishnu and received boons, ruled his kingdom for several years, ultimately achieved the highest status of the pole star Dhruv. King Ambareesha who was a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu was put to test by Maharishi Dhruvassa had to take shelter in the three worlds and spend a year running for life chased by the powerful Sudharshana Chakra, finally took shelter in the devotee of Lord Vishnu. The Kauravas were utilized every strategy to destroy the Pandavas became unsuccessful, constantly jealous of the success of the Pandavas. The righteous Pandu with the grace of Bhagavan Krishna achieved success and auspiciousness, finally, the entire clan of Kauravas got killed in the epic war field of Kurukshetra. Oh! Jeeva, listen to me carefully, whoever spread the trap for others would fall in it and get destroyed. Whoever keep enmity with the noble souls, Mahathma, Santhbrindh will not achieve peace and happiness, not in their dreams. The wish-fulfilling Kalpavriksha will yield toxic fruit for the wicked. Oh! Jeeva, contemplate and meditate upon Lord Sri Hari, and get rid of miseries and sorrows of worldly existence, and get liberated from the vicious cycles of rebirth. Oh! Tulsidas, you have taken shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Raghunatha, hence you are fearless and free from anxiousness.”

Sri Vinaya Patrika – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Paramarththa Thaththva -The selfless service to Mahathmas and saintly people - Kripa of twice-born, Hari, Guru, and Santh for liberation from repeated births

Chapter - 82 -Sri Vinaya Pathrika  -  Paramarththa Thaththva -The selfless service to Mahathmas and saintly people - Kripa of twice-born, Hari, Guru, and Santh for liberation from repeated births

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, the selfless service to Mahathma and Santhvrindh would remove the Dhvandhabhava /dualities, such as grief and joy, happiness and sorrow, respect and disrespect, gain and loss etc., eventually it would remove the fears and anxiousness of worldly existence. The Paramarththa Thaththva, the knowledge of ‘self’, the all-pervasive Bramham resides as a soul in the Jeeva is indestructible Purusha, Jeevathma is Paramathma/oneness-in-all, the Prakrithi is destructible, the material matters and people have fleeting nature, this knowledge would remove the interest in worldly matters such as possession, fame, richness, money, wealth, etc. attachment to wife, children, relatives, and companions, etc. Oh! Jeeva, practice the worship at the lotus feet of Lord Raghunatha, contemplate and meditate upon him to achieve the Sadhusangama. Whoever achieved the knowledge of ‘self’, and perceives the Paramathma Parambhramam resides as soul, would become Vilakshana/unique, immerses in a supreme state of bliss, freely move without any fear or anxiousness all over the Earth, the unique nature of Bhramajjani/Bhramavithth is Santhosha/happiness, Samatha/equality, Shanthi/serenity, perfect control over sense/freed from Ahamkara and Mamakara, impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya. These Mahathmas are freed from Dhehathma Bodha, elevated to the superior status of ‘Aham Bhramasmi’, they are pure immerses in the Sacchidhanandhaswaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam, are freed from the Samsararoga/fears and anxieties of worldly existence. These Mahathmas are freed from Harsha/happiness or Shoka/sorrow, ultimately these Mahathmas would become the purifier of the three worlds.”

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “ Oh! Jeeva, whoever practices intense devotion, meditation, contemplation, Shamadhamadhi, observes silence and celibacy, practice truthfulness, kindness, non-violence, control of sense, purity, Swadhyaya, Athmavichara, etc. and worship at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Raghunatha would achieve nobility, and  whoever sincerely follow the command of preceptor, selflessly serve the Mahathmas and Sadhus, perform their duties and responsibilities prescribed in the Veda and have the clear-cut knowledge of Dharma and Adharma would achieve Purusharththa/Dharma, Arththa, Kama, and Moksha. The Sadhaka who abandons the interest in worldly matters, and sincerely undertake austerities with the grace of supreme Lord, would achieve Sacchidhanandha Paramathma/Adhvaitha Bhramam, and immerse in supreme bliss. The ignorant drenched in the material matters of Prakrithi constantly hurl into the deep well of grief and sorrows, cannot even dream of Paramanandha/supreme bliss. The permanent truth is Paramathma Parambhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva, and the realization of Athmaswaroopa is Paramanandha, that could protect the Jeeva from the vicious cycles of rebirth, and it is impossible to achieve without the Kripa of twice-born, Hari, Guru, and Santh. I am Tulsidas have already taken shelter at the lotus feet of Lakshmipathi, and singing in praise of him to get liberated from the vicious cycles of rebirth.”

Sri Vinaya Pathrika – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – The benefits of association with Santhbhrindh, Mahathma, and noble- souls

Chapter - 81 -Sri Vinaya Patrika  -  The benefits of association with Santhbhrindh, Mahathma, and noble- souls

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, I have described the struggles of this birth, in this way, you have spent several births of humiliations and disappointments, you have taken several births in different yonis and have gone through indescribable agonies and sufferings. You have been wandering in the different Yonis of Andaj/born from the egg, Pindaj/ animals born from the mother’s womb, Swethaj/human birth, and Uthbeej/sprouted from the seeds, etc. Oh! Jeeva, leave your ignorance and Avidhya Maya, and abandon the interest in worldly matters, seeking pleasure in the material matters of richness, wealth, money, fame, possession, and attachment on children, wife, relatives, and companions, it has nothing to offer other than extreme grief and agony. Oh! Jeeva, think of your welfare and protect yourself from hurling into the vicious cycles of rebirth, engage in the meditation, contemplation, Swadhyaya, Athmavichara, Sathyam, Dhaya, Shaucham, Arjjavam, Thithiksha, Ahimsa, Shama, Dhama, etc. immerse in the meditation and sing in praise of Lord Sri Ramachandra who is the protector of the Jeeva from the unfathomable ocean of worldly existence.   The devotion, meditation and contemplation upon the supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra work as an aircraft that protects from the ocean of worldly existence/Bhavasagara. He is too compassionate and kind to his devotees, meditate upon that Sudharshana Chakradhari who is capable to liberate you from the repeated cycles of births. The Supreme Lord Ramachandra is magnanimous, he is Mayapathi will protect you from the Maya of Samsara, he is Lakshmipathi, he is the Lord of the Universe and it's living and non-living things, he is Jagathpathi who is the ultimate source for the Dharma, Arththa, Kama, and Moksha.”

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Jeeva, the practice of devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Raghunatha is easy and blissful always. It would protect you from the Thrividhathapa/Adhidheivik, Adhibhauthik and Adhyathmik, and it would remove the extreme fears and anguish in the Samsara. It is not available without the association of Santhvrindh, Bhakthvrindh, and Mahatmas, and all that can be achieved only with the grace of Lord Sri Raghunath. Sri Raghunath is Dheenadhayalu, the recitation, and sing in praise of glorious would provide the fortune of Santhsamagama/the association with the Mahatmas and noble-souls. Whoever takes shelter at the lotus feet of Santhbhrindh, and Mahatmas, would get relieved from the miseries and sorrows of Samsara, the mere touch of these Mahatmas, and their Dharshan, would destroy all the Papasamooha/accumulated sins. The association of these Mahatmas would remove the Dhvandhabhava/dualities, the difference of grief and joy, respect and disrespect, gain and loss, happiness and sorrow, will disappear forever. The Jeeva who have taken shelter in the association of Mahatmas would realize ‘Oneness-in-all’, and the Paramarththa Thaththva/Jeevathma is Paramathma, Sarvam Khalvitham Bhrama,  ultimately get rid of anxiousness and grief, begin to follow austerities, Shamadhamadhi, observing celibacy, silence, Sathyam, Dhaya, Shaucham, Ahimsa, etc. that would completely destroy the interest in Shabdha, Sparsha, Rasa, Roopa, Gandha, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, and the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya as well.”

Sri Vinaya Patrika – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – The description of Youthful and advanced years of age of human

Chapter - 80 -Sri Vinaya Patrika  -  The description of Youthful and advanced years of age of human

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, your youthful days were sinful as childhood days, at this age you have been chasing for the bodily pleasure, and wandering lustfully for the touch of the woman, you were extremely arrogant, ignorant and Mahajjani/Mahamoorkh these days. You have crossed all the boundaries of Dharma for the bodily pleasure, you have forgotten the days of grief in the womb of your mother, lying upside down in the excretions and worms, and engaged in all grave sins. You have forgotten all your accumulated sins, and immersed in immoral deeds, Oh! Jeeva, your heart is not burst open thinking about the sins committed? You have kept yourself prepared to throw into deep distress with your Papakarma, and paved your way to hurl into the vicious cycles of rebirth. Oh! Ignorant, this body is a pile of bone and flesh, it has to undergo changes every second, such as aging, illnesses, and death, once the vital air leaves the body, the lifeless corpse has to fuse on the Earth, either in the coffin or in the form of ashes or the meal to the worms and vultures. You have made a huge number of enemies for the happiness of this worthless body, swollen with Ahamkara and Mamakara, and impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya. Oh! Wicked, you have committed several sins chasing for the possession of Parayadhan/other’s wealth and Sthree/woman, in this way, you have handcuffed yourself in the Samsara.”

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Jeeva, while getting fastened in the worldly matters of possession, fame, wealth, money, and attachment to family, children, wife, relatives, and companions, you have reached the later years of age, that you did not even think or wish in your dreams. It is difficult to describe the hardships of old age, you have started witnessing the clear pieces of evidence of old age on your body, you have become fragile, none of your limbs are co-operating with you, due to old age you have familiarized yourself with various illnesses that have taken away all your mental peace, you have isolated, become a burden to your family, children, wife, companions, and relatives. Your sense organs are not performing their tasks properly, it is annoying you and others as well.  All of a sudden, you have become ‘unwanted’ in the family, you have lost honor, respect, love from the people surrounded by you, the pet you have brought up in the home become respectful than you, in the sense, you have lost attention from everyone, and no one to respect any longer. The pet you have brought up in the home receives a better piece of bread served in time, you have lost that too. Oh! Ignorant, you have become an ‘irritating piece’ for everyone, no one likes to have communication with you, and your mind and intellect have stopped working completely. You have become so weak that you could not even consume the meal thrown before you. After all these, you have not achieved Vairagya, you have not lost expectation for love from your children, grandchildren, and family. Alas! you haven’t abandoned the Mriga Thrishna after series of setbacks in the old age.”

Sri Vinaya Pathrika – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Garbhavasadhi Dhukham

Chapter - 79 -Sri Vinaya Patrika  -  Garbhavasadhi Dhukham

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, you have repented for the mistakes in the past lives while you were in the womb of your mother, felt miserable for not utilizing the previous births for any pious deeds/Krama to get freed from the Samsara Chakra and Garbhavasa. Oh! Jeeva, you have taken a vow not to get trapped in the Samsara again, promised to contemplate and meditate upon the Lord Chakradhari who is the Lord of time, capable to cut off the vicious cycles of repeated births. You have pacified yourself with the promise that not to get attached to Samsara, and continued to live in the womb facing the hellish tortures. Oh! Jeeva, you have suffered a lot of agonies and pain in the darkness of the mother’s womb, finally, you have pushed out of the womb by the force of air/Prachandavayu upside down on the Earth. Immediately after the birth, you have forgotten all those Bhakthi, Dhyana, Gnana, and the promises you have made while in the womb of your mother.  Oh! Jeeva, no one has seen the troubles you have gone through in the darkness, humid, tiny space in your mother's womb, lying upside down in the Mal/secrete, Moothra/urine, and Krimi/worms.  The people surrounded by you were extremely happy to see the newborn, and were singing and dancing around you in joy.”

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Jeeva, you have suffered a lot of troubles while in your mother’s womb, which was countless. Alas! even after the birth, the helpless infant goes through hunger, illness, and various troubles/bitten by mosquitos, ants, etc., no one could understand why you are weeping for? even your mother does not know what’s bothering you, she tries various tricks to calm the infant, unfortunately, it would multiply your troubles.  Sometimes, the infant cries of indigestion, but the mother misunderstands it as hunger and feeds you, again and again, that would add to your sufferings. During childhood/Kishoravastha you have made a lot of sins knowingly or unknowingly, that are indescribable. Oh! Ignorant, Oh! Heartless, you have committed a lot of mistakes in the childhood days as well.”

Sri Vinaya Pathrika – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Garbhavasa Dhukham/the sufferings of the fetus while in the womb - Bhrama Sathyam Jagath Mithya

Chapter - 78 -Sri Vinaya Pathrika  - Karmajal/the trap of Karma - Garbhavasa Dhukham/the sufferings of the fetus while in the womb  - Bhrama Sathyam Jagath Mithya

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, you have forgotten the wisdom, the Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma resides as soul in you, he is all-pervasive Supreme Bhramam/Oneness-in all, free from afflictions, changeless, pure, unblemished, and has neither birth nor death. you have cemented your interest in worldly matters and bondage, Ahamkara and Mamakara, and impurities of the mind, thereby you have fastened yourself with the Karamaroopi firm rope to the Samsara. You have started depending on material matters and bodily pleasure, even though you are not dependent. The supreme Bhramam resides as soul in you is the source of the functioning of the mind, intellect, Chithth, Ahamkara, Prana, Karma, and Gnanendhriyas, then how could you consider yourself as dependent? You are not Parathanthra. You have handcuffed yourself by the Avidya Maya/illusion, and ignorance, your dependency on the people and material matters hurled you into vicious cycles of rebirth, it pushed you to go through hellish torture in different Yonis, /Garbhavasa Dhukha, and the sufferings of worldly/Samsara Dhukha existence as well. Oh! Jeeva, the fetus stay upside down in the womb of its mother that is filled in secrets and worms, no one would offer help and the Jeeva had to suffer it all alone, could not express the pain. The fetus continues to suffer the hellish torture in its mother’s womb for several days, the tender limbs undergo extreme pain and agony during this period of time, it would remain helpless, and continues to weep in the womb.”

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Jeeva, your Karmajala/the trap of the Karma thrown you to grief, the pain of separation, illness, anguish, and extreme distress. As a result of your Karma, you have hurled yourself into different Yonis, but the compassionate Lord Sri Hari did not leave you for a single second, Prabhu protected you while you were going through hellish torture in the mother’s womb. Lord Hari is Paramakripalu, he offered wisdom while you were in the mother’s womb, he enlightened you with the knowledge of Paramarththa while you were crying heart out, hanging upside down in mother’s womb, and deeply distressed by the tortures of the worms and secrets. You have remembered the several births and the sufferings, wept before Lord Hari with folded hands “Oh! Prabho, your Thrigunamayi/Sathivik, Rajasik, and Thamasik Maya is so powerful, I shall take shelter at your lotus feet, kindly protects me. Oh! Prabho, your Maya has taken complete control over the Chiththa and intellect, and caused false perception, compelled the Jeeva to get attached to the destructible Prakrithi and material matters, and forget the indestructible Purusha reside as soul, and your Maya has driven the Jeeva afar from you. Oh! Mayapathi, Oh! Lakshmipathi, you have enlightened me with the knowledge of Paramarththa Thaththva/Jagath Mithya Bhrama Sathyam, even in the hardest times of Garbhavasa Dhukha, kindly protects me.”

Sri Vinaya Pathrika – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Jeevathma is Paramathma – Sarvam Khalvitham Bhrama/Sarvam Bhramamayam – Bhrama Sathyam Jagath Mithya

Chapter - 77 -Sri Vinaya Patrika  -  Jeevathma is Paramathma – Sarvam Khalvitham Bhrama/Sarvam Bhramamayam – Bhrama Sathyam Jagath Mithya

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, you have considered the body as permanent; the possessions, richness, wealth, money, fame, children, wife, companions and relatives would follow you till the end of the Kalpa. Oh! Jeeva, Your ignorance and attachment in worldly matters and bondage, Ahamkara, and Mamakara, the impurities of mind such as Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha Madha, and Mathshcharya, the excessive interest in the Shabdha, Sparsha, Rasa, Roop, and Gandha, driven you afar from the Paramathma who reside as a soul in you and eventually you have completely forgotten the Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam, that thrown into deep distress and miseries, eventually, you have hurled into the vicious cycles of birth. Oh! Jeeva, you have taken several births as Keeta, Pathanga, Manushya, and animals, etc., and have undergone endless miseries and grief. Oh! Jeeva, you have not earned the happiness or joy not even in your dreams, the Samsararoopi Mrigathrishna/reflection of water in the desert, made you chase after material welfare and bodily pleasure. Oh! Jeeva, you are adamant, even after facing several humiliations, distress, desolation, grief, and pain, you have not stopped chasing after the worldly matters that have impermanent nature. Oh! Ignorant, you have not perceived Sri Hari who resides as a soul, hence think yourself, have you achieved peace, the serenity of mind, and eternal bliss leaving Sri Ramachandra who reside as a soul in you?”

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Jeeva, you are that Chidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma resides in the milky ocean, Jeevathma is Paramathma who is free from afflictions, unblemished, pure, eternal bliss, changeless, free from impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya, and it has neither birth nor death. You have wielded in Maya/illusion the moment you have taken birth, you are taking pleasure in the reflection of water, leaving the bliss/ the original water which could quench your thirst. You have drenched yourself into Samsaroopi Mrigathrishna, taking extreme pleasure in the Vishaya Bhoga Roopi Mrigathrishna, you have believed them as real water and diving deep into it, the truth is that no one has satisfied from the Mrigathrisha, which was not a real, but mere illusion. Oh! Wicked, you have abandoned that Vishudhdha/pure, Avinashi/indestructible Purusha, Vikararahitha/free from impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Sukhaswaroopa/supreme bliss, Paramathma Parambhramam and you have forgotten the real in you as Jeevathma is Paramathma. It is as foolish as the King had a dream of getting tortured in the prison and the pain continues until and unless he gets out of sleep, in the same manner, the Samsararoopi Mrigathrishna and Mahamoha of the Jeeva who have completely forgotten the truth ‘Jeevathma is Paramathma’, continues unless and until the Jeeva gets out of the illusion with the knowledge of ‘Jagath Mithya Bhrama Sathyam’ and Sarvam Khalvitham Bhrama/Sarvam Bhramamayam. Oh! Jeeva, you have forgotten the Sacchidhanandaswaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam, and attached to the worldly matters of richness, wealth, fame, possession, money, self-made relationships such as father, mother, companions, wife, children, relatives etc. and firmly fastened yourself with the Samsara that could not give permanent bliss.”
