Sri Surdas Maharaj – Sri Sur – Vinaya – Pathrika-Chapter – 34 - Jeeva who does not practice the devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari would be considered as a burden on the Earth

Chapter – 34 -  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika –Jeeva who does not practice the devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari would be considered a burden on the Earth

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho, fortunate is the one who has intense faith and devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari.  Oh! Prabho, who is superior to the trinities who represent Lord Sri Hari himself? worship of demigods leaving Lord Sri Hari would be like a mendicant seeking alms from another mendicant, it would be like a fatherless child, or the illegitimate child doesn’t respect the society. Hiranyakshipu could not save his life even though he has achieved several boons from Lord Bhrama after severe austerities and penance, on the other hand, the child Prahaldha won over the heart of Lord Sri Hari with his sincere devotion, hence the Lord appeared as half-lion and half-man from the pillar at the will of his child devotee, and ripped off the heart of Hiranyakashipu. Lord Sri Ramachandra crowned Vibheeshana as the King of Lanka, the stones dropped on the ocean floated on the water at the splendor of Lord Rama and it created a majestic bridge across the ocean. Oh! Prabho, I have already surrendered at your lotus feet which removed the curse of Gauthama Pathni Ahalya.  Oh! Lord Raghunath, whoever taken shelter at your lotus feet would get rid of grief and suffering of worldly existence.”

“Oh! Mortals, Lord Sri Hari provided the highest status of ‘pole star’ to his child devotee Dhruva, the Lord Surya, and Lord Chandra reverentially prostrate him, therefore even after listening to the kindness and compassion of that supreme Lord, if you do not practice devotion and worship of Lord Sri Hari, you are a burden on the Earth, and you have caused to destroy youthfulness of your mother.”

Chapter – 33 -  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika –Whatever is thrown on others would find its way to come back

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, why are you keeping hostility against your fellow beings? It is the grace of that supreme Lord Krishna/Gopala the Jeeva achieves honor and fame, in the same manner, whoever swollen with pride, ego, jealousy, lust, desire, anger, etc. would get their pride crushed by him. Whoever tries to humiliate, hurt, and harm others would get back the same, like the one who throws dust to taint the moon would get their faces discolored with it. Oh! Mortal, a bird cannot dry the ocean or cross the ocean, the wind cannot displace the mountain. Oh! Jeeva, whoever surrendered at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari gets relieved from sins, Thapathraya/ grief, and sufferings of worldly existence, he is the protector of the distressed soul. Gauthama Pathni Devi Ahalya got rid of the curse at the touch of dust particles from the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra. Oh! Mortal, the supreme Lord Sri Hari is Lord of the Universe and its living and non-living things, he is the absolute truth that resides as a soul in the Jeeva, he is the creator, preserver, and the destroyer as well.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho, you are the absolute truth, you are the source of the welfare of the Universe and its living and non-living things. Oh! Prabho, you are the Creator, Protector, and the Destroyer of the Universe and its living and non-living things. Oh! Prabho, you are the Lord of the Universe, if your worshiper suspects your divinity, then he is not a devotee at all. Oh! Prabho, Gajendra was swollen with pride, ego, jealousy, lust, desire, anger, etc. he was drenched in worldly matters, was caught on the leg by a crocodile in the pond. All his family, relatives, and companions had to leave him alone to his fate, Gajendra fought all alone for several years, finally, he remembered you. Oh! Karunanidhi, Oh! Sri Hari, you have abandoned Sri Vaikundam, left your celestial vehicle Garuda, at the painful cries of Gajendra, rushed on your feet to protect Gajendra from the mouth of death. Oh! Prabho, Devi Dhraupadhi was seized on hair and dragged to the large assembly of Kaurava, and wicked Dhusshasana tried to remove her clothes, she cried out for you “Oh! Krishna, Oh! Govinda” immediately you have showered an abundance of clothes on her body and protected Devi Dhraupadhi from further disgrace. Oh! Bhakthavathsala, I have already surrendered at your lotus feet, kindly protect me.”

Chapter – 31 -  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The glories of Lord Krishna

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Govinda, you are the protector of the distressed souls, you are the closest companion of them. Oh! Prabho, Gajendra, Devi Dhraupadhi, the people of Vraja and Prahaldha got relieved from the grief immediately after remembering you. Oh! Prabho, you have protected the Pandavas from the Lakshagriha that was set to fire as a part of the plotting of Duryodhana, you have saved the Pandavas from the disgrace and curse of Sage Dhurvassa who visited the Pandavas during their life in the woods. You have consumed a tiny green leaf from the ‘Akshayapathra’ offered by Devi Dhraupadhi and removed the hunger of Sage Dhurvassa and thousands of his disciples. Oh! Prabho, you have saved King  Ambareesh from the curse of Sage Dhurvasa, later he had to apologize to the King due to the fear of your fierce disc that chased the Sage to the three worlds. Oh! Prabho, you have protected the vow of the daughter of King Bhishmak. Devi Rukmini was firm in her decision to marry none other than Lord Sri Krishna. Oh! Sripathi Oh! Sri Krishnachandra, you have rushed to Kundinapur to protect the vow Devi Rukmini, while everyone was witnessing you have effortlessly taken Devi Rukmini on your hands and safely deposited on your chariot and drove away from the crowd, whoever followed you and invited for the fight got their egos crushed. Oh! Prabho, you have released all those crores of kings capable to form a huge army who were imprisoned by Jarasandha. Oh! Prabho, you have always kept your promise alive to your devotees, the war of Kurukshetra was exemplary proof of your promise to your devotees. Oh! Prabho, your childhood friend Sudhama who was penniless visited you in Dwaraka was received with great honor, you have taken away the bundle of ragged clothe containing puffed rice from him, although he was not willing to give you. Oh! Krishnachandra, you always chase after your ardent devotees, and grieve over their separation, in the same manner, you don’t let the wicked demons get on with their atrocities. Oh! Sri Hari, your lotus feet are capable to remove the Thapathraya/three kinds of grief and sufferings of worldly existence, hence whoever surrenders at your feet would get relieved from the sufferings of Samsara. Oh! Dheenadhayala, you have incarnated on the Earth whenever the righteousness got tarnished and the Mother Earth was burned with the wicked and deceitful people. Oh! Prabho, you have assumed various forms for the welfare of noble souls, Veda highly eulogizes your endless glories. Oh! Prabho, even after listening to the endless glories of Lord Sri Hari, the unfortunate Jeevas are the ones who discard the devotion and worship at your lotus feet and seek the grace of demigods of their choice.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “ Oh! Prabho, how can I describe your splendor? Oh! Balihari, you symbolize supreme bliss, you have a beautiful appearance, each and every limb entices the whole Universe. Oh! Prabho,  Oh! Shyamasundhara, Lord Bhrama hid the cows and cowherds of Vraja to test your divinity, instantly you have created the replica of cows and cowherds of Vraja as an amusement, that made Lord Bhrama realize his mistake, in this way you have crushed the pride of Lord Bhrama. Oh! Prabho, Oh! Gopala, Lord Indra was annoyed at the worship of Mount Govardhan, he disturbed the life with a heavy downpour, that flooded the entire Vraja. You have rushed to protect the cows and cowherds, elevated Mount Govardhan on your little finger, and protected the entire Vraja. Oh! Yadhunath, Devi Dhraupadhi cried out for help in the large assembly of Kaurava, you have provided an abundance of clothes and protected her from disgrace. Oh! Chapter – 29 -  Sur -Vinaya – Patrika –The importance of the practice of devotion

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “ Oh! Mortals,  the supreme Lord Krishna who is adorned in Vanamala/garland made of flowers from the woods is the remover of grief and sufferings of the Jeeva, he destroys the three kinds of grief such as 1)Adhidheivik/grief caused by natural calamities, drought, famine, woodfire, flood, epidemic, etc. 2) Adhibhauthik/grief caused by the attachment to possessions, wealth, richness, money, fame, children, wife, companions and relatives, etc. 3) Adhyathmik/ grief caused by the illnesses, aging, fear of death, separation of beloved ones, etc. Lord Sri Krishna is the protector of souls who are surrendered at his lotus feet, hence practice the devotion and worship of Lord Sri Hari. The child devotee Prahaladha underwent several hardships, thrown to the mouth of death several times by his father Hiranyakashipu was protected by Lord Sri Hari who incarnated as half lion-half man on the pillar pointed out by Prahladha and ripped off the heart of Hiranyakashipu. Oh! Murari, you have provided the highest of the honor ‘Dhruvapadham’ to your child devotee Dhruva who undertook severe austerities and penance. Oh! Prabho, you have saved King Ambareesh from the curse of Dhruvassa and protected his vows. Oh! Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Shyamasundara, how can I describe your endless virtues? Oh! Prabho, you have liberated Kubja/Kubidi who had three visible hunchs on her body was transformed into a beautiful young woman at the touch of you. Vidura who was a son of servant maid an ardent devotee of you achieved your perpetual grace, the penniless Bhramin Sudhama who was childhood companion visited you with a bundle of puffed rice in ragged upper clothes, in return, he achieved the wealth and richness of Lord Indra. The elderly prostitute who bought a parrot from the devotee of Lord Hari, merely listening to the glorious names sung by the parrot, she has achieved liberation from worldly existence.  Oh! Prabho, you haven’t accepted the Yajjabhaga/oblations from the fire sacrifices or visited the hermitage of Rishis, but you have blessed the Rishi/Vipra Pathnis. You have gracefully accepted the fruits offered by Sabari, even though she had tasted them all and offered them to Lord. Oh! Prabho, you have affectionately received the fruits offered by Sabari and liberated her. Oh! Nandhanandhana, you have performed various amusements in the Braja, you have protected the cowherds and cows by elevating the Mount Govardhana on your little finger. Oh! Chapter – 25 -  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The absolute Truth/Paramarththa Thaththva

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “ Oh! Jeeva, there is no other way to get rid of the suffering and grief of worldly existence without the practice of devotion and worship of the Supreme Lord Krishna, there is no greater objective in the life of humans other than the meditation and contemplation at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari. The human life is extremely difficult to achieve, the Jeeva/soul after taking several thousands of births in eighty-four lakhs yonis such as animals, birds, reptiles, tiny creatures, etc. achieves the birth of a human with the grace of Lord Sri Hari, after having the rarest birth as a human, if the Jeeva does not strive to achieve the devotion, he/she is unfortunate, a burden on the Earth. Oh! Jeeva, all the material matters such as possession, wealth, richness, fame, money, relatives, children, wife, companion, etc. have fleeting nature, it is like a dream, either you have to leave them or it would leave you. All the material matters /Prakrithi is perishable, the soul is imperishable. Oh! Jeeva, Rajabali, Prahladha, King Ambareesha, have achieved the highest of the pieties with the sincere devotion and worship of Lord Sri Hari. Lord Rama killed the mighty King Ravana in the fierce battle and crowned his younger brother Vibheeshana who was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu as the King of Lanka. Duryodhana was arrogant, and he had no devotion or faith in Lord Krishna, hence he and his clan met destruction in the epic battle of Kurukshetra. The five Pandavas were amiable, highly devoted to Lord Krishna, got rid of all the sufferings and grief, finally became victorious in the battle. It was the grace of Lord Yadhunatha that made the Pandavas victorious on the battlefield. Oh! Jeeva, Bhaumasura has imprisoned sixteen thousand beautiful females, Lord Sri Krishnachandra killed Bhaumasura and released all those females, but all of them were yearning to achieve Lord Krishna as their husband, finally the compassionate Lord married all of them and performed the task of an ideal husband to them. The Veda and scriptures highly praised the kindness of Lord Sri Krishna when he was got married to sixteen thousands of beautiful women from the highest clan.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, listen to me carefully about the significance of recitation of sacred names of Lord Sri Hari, even the ignorant would achieve respect and fame with the grace of Lord Sri Hari, later the world sing in praise of that person. The sinful Ajamila who abandoned his family and elderly parents for a prostitute in the wood, later years of grown too fond of his younger son ‘Narayana’, and called out his name in the death bed was liberated. The Ganika/Prostitute in her later years of age bought a parrot from the devotee of Lord Sri Hari which compelled her to remember the name of Lord Sri Hari was finally achieved liberation. The Kolas, Bhilas who sincerely served Lord Rama in the forest, the chief of Nishadha Guha achieved liberation at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari. Chapter – 22 -  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika –  The significance of Sharanagathi

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jagannatha/Lord of Universe, you are the safest asylum of the distressed souls, Oh! Dheenadhayala Oh! Paramadhayamaya/ocean of mercy, you have performed various amusements for the welfare of noble souls. Oh! Prabho, Duryodhana humiliated Devi Draupadi in the large assembly of Kaurava, wanted to make her walk naked in the assembly, she cried out for your help. Oh! Dhayamaya, you have showered an abundance of clothing on Devi Dhrupadhi, that was difficult to find the other end, Dusshasana who was miserably failed in his effort to pull out clothes from her body. Oh! Krishnachandra, what is the caste and clan of Vidura? He was not from a higher clan or class, you have graciously eaten the peel of banana which was offered affectionately by Vidurani. Oh! Prabho, Kubdi/Kubja who has three visible curves on her body, was she beautiful? Was she from a higher clan or class? You have got attracted to her graciousness, you have allowed her to apply the rich fragrant sandalwood paste all over your body, in return you have removed her ugly appearance. Oh! Prabho, Gajaraja was painfully fought against the crocodile all alone for several years, he became hopeless, finally, he remembered you, instantly you have freed him from the sufferings and pain and you have liberated the crocodile as well.  Chapter – 21 -Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – All Jeevas are bound by the sufferings and grief of worldly existence like the crocodile

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “ Oh! Prabho, you can’t bear to watch your devotees in distress, you are an ocean of mercy, when the Gajendra was caught on the leg by a crocodile in the pond, he was left alone by family, relatives, and companions, he miserably failed to pull out the leg from the mouth of the crocodile, finally, he remembered you. Oh! Prabho, you did not wait too long, rushed on your feet to protect your devotee Gajendra, leaving behind Sri Vaikundam, Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, and your celestial vehicle Garuda, thus Gajendra got rid of the sufferings and pain of several years instantly. In this way, whenever your devotees are met with hardships, you have rushed to protect them and kept your promise alive. Your child devotee Prahladha desired your presence in the pillar, you have appeared before him in the form of Nrisimha. Devi Draupadi was humiliated in the large assembly of Kaurava, none could protect her from the disgrace, she cried out calling your names for help was protected from further humiliation. Oh! Prabho, you have pleased your sincere devotee Vidura, and accepted his hospitalities, leaving behind the extravagant meal arranged by the Kauravas. In the kali era, your passionate devotee Santh Namadeva achieved your compassionate grace, Oh! Prabho, I am a helpless Bhramin like Sudhama, you have showered an abundance of grace on your childhood companion Sudhama and removed his poverty, kindly shower your grace upon me too.”

Chapter – 20 -  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The practice of devotion to get rid of sufferings of worldly existence

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Shyamasundara, you are beloved of distressed souls, Oh! Dheenanath, Oh! Takur, you are the protector of the distressed people, and you always keep up your promise alive. Oh! Prabho, what to talk about the clan of Vidura? Is he from the upper clan or higher status? You have visited the house of Vidura who was an ardent devotee of you, and you have pleased him by accepting his hospitalities. Oh! Prabho, you are the slave of your devotees, all that you look for is pure love and devotion from the Jeeva. Oh! Krishna, what was the greatness or fame with the Pandavas? You have been always protected them from various troubles, you have performed the task of a charioteer to Arjuna in the epic battle of ‘Kurukshetra’. Oh! Dwarakanath, what was the greatness with the Bhramin Sudhama? He was your sincere companion, shared a lovely childhood with you, and above all he was your sincere devotee. Oh! Prabho, Oh! Dwarakanath, you have always been chasing after your sincere devotees, you get easily pleased with the pure love and devotion of your devotees. Oh! Ignorant Jeeva, listen to me carefully, if you want to get rid of grief and sufferings of worldly existence, fear of death and repeated births, abandon your interest in worldly matters, Ahamkara, Mamakara, lust, desire, ego, jealousy, pride, and anger, etc. and contemplate and meditate upon Lord Sri Hari.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Giridhar, I have not seen any deity kind and compassionate as you. Oh! Prabho, you have defeated the wicked Kauravas and crowned Yudhishtira as the King of Hasthinapur and it spread the glories of you. Lord Brahma and Lord Rudra are equally concerned about ‘Time’, that get frightened watching at your curved eyebrows. Oh! Prabho, there was no King mighty and powerful as demon Ravana, but his ‘Mahamoha’, Ahamkara, Mamakara, ego, jealousy, pride, lust, desire, anger, etc. drove him away from you, finally got trapped in the mouth of Mayaroopi Mrithyu in the vicious battle with Lord Rama. Oh! Prabho, you have brought back the son of Maharishi Sandheepani from Yamaloka and offered him as ‘Gurudhakshina’ to your preceptor. Your childhood companion Bhramin Sudhama who was penniless visited you with a bundle of puffed rice packed in ragged upper clothe, hesitantly offered to you and in return, he has achieved the wealth and richness that excels Lord Indra. Oh! Prabho, Devi Dhraupdhi was dragged to the large assembly of Kaurava, and Dusshasana humiliated her removing her clothes, she shrieked out for help, remembered you, thus she got protected from further disgrace. Oh! Prabho, whoever abandons to worship your lotus feet are unfortunate and ignorant, and whoever sings in praise of your glories would never perish in four Yugas.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Govinda, you are too kind and compassionate to your devotees, you are the knower of all, you are indebted to your devotees, you assume the form whatever desired by your devotees. Oh! Prabho, your passionate devotee Sabari brought upper clothe full of berries, and she had tasted each and every berry to test the sweetness of it and offered to you the superior ones, you have gracefully accepted them. Further, you have fondly remembered that incident as ‘you have not gotten the opportunity to enjoy the same sweetness of the fruit that was offered by Sabari in your whole life. Oh! Shyamasundhara, you have always been affectionate to your devotees, you have visited the house of Vidhura, leaving the sumptuous meal offered by Duryodhana. You have been received with great honor and affection in the house of Vidura, and Vidurani who is a passionate devotee of you offered a bunch of plantain fruits, she was so mesmerized to watch Shyamsundhar in her home, offered the skin of plantain instead of banana, you did not hesitate to eat the skin of banana which was fondly offered by Vidurani. Oh! Prabho, as a part of Duryodhana’s plotting against the Pandavas who were already suffering in the dense woods, Sage Dhurvass was requested to visit the Pandavas during their exile from Hastinapura. Sage Durvass along with several thousands of disciples arrived in the wood to meet the Pandavas, unfortunately, there was no meal available to offer the Sage and his disciple. Devi Dhraupadhi called out for your help, Oh! Shyamasundara, you have instantly appeared before her and consumed a tiny piece of green from the bottom of ‘Akshayapathra’ which was already cleaned after the consumption of the day’s meal, thus, you have made the Sage Durvass and his disciple forget their hunger. Oh! Karunanidhi, you have never abandoned your devotees in distress, you have always been there to protect your sincere devotees in each Yuga.”

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho, you have been kind and compassionate to Jeeva, haven’t looked at the caste, religion, clan, etc., and proved that the religion or caste or clan will not deter the Jeeva from Bhagavath Prapthi.  Byadh/King of birds Jatayu and Ajamila achieved liberation at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Hari.  Oh! Krishnachandra, you have approached Kauravas as an emissary of Pandava, was humiliated in the large assembly, you have crushed the pride of Duryodhana and affectionately accepted the hospitality of Vidura who was born to a servant maid. Oh! Prabho, Oh! Gopal, you have been born in the clan of cowherds and performed the tasks of the cowherds, you have stolen the hearts of the cowherds with your various amusements. Oh!  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The nobleness of Lord Sri Krishna

Surdas Maharaj speaks “The devotees of Lord Sri Rama represent Lord Sri Ramachandra, no matter the devotee is mendicant, or King. Lord Sri Rama does not look at the Gothra, caste, status, clan, fame, etc. of the devotees. Oh! Prabho, I am an ignorant one, I do not know the glories of Lord Bhrama or Lord Maheshwara, one thing is certain that you can’t tolerate the arrogance and ignorance, you abandon the impure and wicked drenched in Ahamkara, Mamakara, jealousy, ego, pride, desire, lust, anger, etc. The deities had the pride of their superiority over demons, they have met several troubles due to their swollen pride, even though you were too kind and protected them. Oh! Prabho, your child devotee Prahlada was born in the clan of demons, you have appeared as a half lion- half man in the pillar at the call of your devotee. Lord Sri Raghava was born in the clan of Raghu, Lord Krishna was born in Gokul, and he had never left the Vrindavan. Oh! Prabho, the deities, demons, and humans have attained your continuous grace, I shall repeatedly describe your various amusements, but I could not describe the splendor of your passionate devotees, it is beyond my words.  Oh! Prabho, your child devotee Dhruva was born in the Kshatriya clan, and your passionate devotee Vidura was born to a maidservant, you have never shown any partialities to your devotees. Oh! Prabho, it is a widely known fact that you are Bhakthvathsala/you are inseparable from your devotees, you are always at the call of your devotees. Oh! Prabho, Oh! Shyamasundhara, you are too amiable, during the Rajasuya Yajja of Yudhishtira, you have stood forefront to wash the leg of Sages and Rishis and Brahmanas. Oh! Prabho, how can I describe your glories? Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, I have not seen a deity kind and compassionate as Lord Sri Hari, whoever remembers the supreme Lord Hari would get protected from all the troubles instantly. Gajendra who was caught on a leg by the crocodile in the pond, was left alone by his family, friends, and relatives, fought against the crocodile for several years, finally, he cried out calling for Lord Sri Hari. The compassionate Lord did not wait for Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi or celestial vehicle Garuda, he rushed to the pond with the disc and protected Gajendra from the clutch of the crocodile. King Ambareesha who was an ardent devotee of Lord Sri Hari met the wrath of Sage Dhurvassa was got rid of the curse of the Sage and the compassionate Lord showered an abundance of grace upon his devotee. All the deities and Sages have witnessed the Sage Dhurvassa rushing to the abode of Bhrama, Vishnu, and Maheshwara seeking protection from the fierce disc chased after him, finally, he had to appeal to King Ambareesh and got saved himself. The sons of Pandu were trapped in the Lakshagriha/wax house built by Kaurava, the compassionate Lord provided them good intellect to get themselves saved from the horrific fire accident. Oh!   Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – Is Jeevathma grateful to Paramathma?

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, there is no deity compassionate and kind as Lord Sri Hari, he showers abundance of grace upon his ardent devotees to make them blissful as they have desires, he fulfills all the desires of his passionate devotees. He quenches the thirst of Jeeva by offering water, waves off hunger by providing meals, and showers clothe to cover the nakedness. He is supreme Lord Sri Krishnachandra, Lord of Universe, Lord of animate and inanimate things always concerned about the Jeeva like the mother cow always think of her calves while grazing in the woods, and rushes to its calves in the evening to be with them. He is Paramaudhara/gracious Lord, merciful, he is Chathurachoodamani/wisdom personified, he showers abundance of wealth to penniless, he protects the Jeeva who are surrendered at his lotus feet, he spread hands before his passionate devotees for worthless things, he can’t bear to watch his devotees in distress, he rushes to protect his devotees in trouble. He is Bhakthavathsala, keeps up his promises to his devotees, and he finds immense pleasure in keeping his promise to his devotees. Oh! Jeeva, the supreme Lord Sri Krishnachandra performs millions and millions of favors to Jeeva, are we grateful to him? Are we expressing gratitude to his boundless mercy? There won’t be no one selfish like us.”

Chapter – 9 -  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The Jeeva who does not practice sincere devotion and worship of Lord Sri Hari is unfortunate

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, have you ever taken notice of the kindness and nobleness of Lord Sri Hari? take notice of the magnanimity of Lord Sri Hari who Sarveshwara Paramathma Parambhramam, all-pervasive Bhramam, the Lord of the Universe, protector of souls, Lord of animate and inanimate things, he is the ocean of mercy, he can’t bear to watch his devotees in distress. Oh! Jeeva, Lord Sri Krishnachandra is too gracious and forgiving, praises the teeny tiny virtues of his devotees to the size of Mount Mahameru, and consider their grave sins of ocean-sized into water bubbles. The Supreme Lord Sri Krishnachandra is pure, pleasant and bliss personified, even if you go afar from him, his lotus-like place remains cheerful while you get closer to him.
